I've lived most of my life in Lighthouse Point, except for my three-and-a-half years at the University of Miami, half a year in Australia and eight hellish months in Montana. I've known that Lito's existed for quite a long time, but never gave it a chance until last night. I can't believe it took me this long to give it a try, especially given that it's a local restaurant and not a chain. Clearly, I've been missing out. I brought my mom along, and we were quickly seated at a booth. After perusing the menu, we decided to order the soft pretzel sticks to start. These were fantastic... crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. They came with two kinds of mustard dipping sauces, and while I do like brown mustard, that one was quickly abandoned in favor of the honey mustard. I also decided to order from their craft beer menu, and got the UFO White (one of my favorites), which they brought in the bottle with a koozie (I was told I was welcome to keep the koozie) and a frosted glass with an orange wedge. That glass happened to be a University of Miami glass, so extra points just for that ;) And after ordering these to start, I realized how very German I was... pretzels and beer. I am half German, after all. Given that Germany had just won the World Cup two hours prior, I guess this was my subconscious way of celebrating. My mom chose the filet mignon sliders with onion rings as her meal, while I opted for the Lighthouse Point chicken. It's marinated in teriyaki and ginger, and topped with a grilled pineapple. Our waitress Stephanie didn't even blink an eye when I made my (admittedly odd) request for the chicken to be prepared well done (it's a long story). My meal came with two sides, so I chose a side salad and well-done tater tots. The side salad even came with homemade croutons, and I very nearly had to stab my mom's hand with my fork to stop her from stealing them (she succeeded once). The entree itself was delicious. The tater tots were super crispy as requested, and the chicken had a wonderful flavor and came with a side of more of the sauce. My mom loved her meal as well. The filet mignon medallions were incredibly tender, and the onion rings were panko breaded, not beer battered, and also well done (what can I say, it runs in the family). We left here incredibly full and very impressed. This will surely be on our dining out rotation, and thank goodness too... my mom tends to gravitate to chain restaurants, and I was getting tired of disappointing meals :)

We live nearby, thankfully, and we are always impressed by the quality of the food and the great service from the incredible staff. If you haven't been here yet you need to check this place out. If we could we would eat here every night!!!!! Several times when we have been there the owners have come to our table and asked how everything was, I can't say enough about the wonderful atmosphere and neighborly attitude everyone has there, it's just awesome!

This place is very generic and the food is very blah. The menu, website, and outdoor space led my husband and I to believe this was an actual seafood grill. We walked into what looked like a breakfast diner. The menu has somewhat of a minimal seafood section and the daily specials consisted of items like grilled cheese and chicken salad. The sides are very small and the food was, at best, fine. I would skip this place and find a more authentic restaurant.

Went here for dinner with my father on a Friday night. The craft beer selection was great and the prices were reasonable. We had the crab cake appetizer which was amazing. He had the black n blue burger and I had the hogfish snapper sandwich. Both entrees were excellent. We finished it off with their key lime pie. This pie is truly delicious and unlike any other key lime pie since they make it from scratch, add cream cheese to the filling, and pecans to the crust. Olivia was our waitress and she was super friendly and on the ball. This place is a new favorite. I need to go back and have their $1.75 16oz can of PBR all day every day next time. What a deal.

Always an excellent experience. We've been to Lito's dozens of times and never had a bad meal. Great prices, outstanding service and great people. The lobster roll is tops, the burgers are great, and the fresh cut fries are delicious. Also recommend the key lime pie, best in Florida, the crust is awesome!

Omg. I didn't know what to expect and it's got a kinda diner vibe when you walk in...but I can honestly say it is the best seafood I have had, possibly including the keys.... Lobster roll was perfect. Fried oysters were yummy. Fresh fish , grouper, in the weeds with an awesome sauce.. And can't forget the secret tater tots... Will definitely be back..often..

Very friendly staff. Big menu. Good lobster crab bisque, good lobster sandwich, great key lime pie. Something for everyone.

I had the lobster roll & we shared a clam chowder. The clam chowder was pretty good. I'm not an expert on lobster rolls. In fact, that was my first experience with one. I just never understood why anyone would want to mess up a perfectly good lobster with mayonnaise. Well, since it came so highly recommended I decided to give it a shot. It was okay. It had a fair amount of mayo & celery which was cool. I can't say i'd order it again from there but I would definitely try other things on the menu. If you are into lobster rolls I would say Go for it. I will probably have to try out a few more to know what is a good or great lobster roll but it wasn't bad.

A large menu with more turf than surf. I had blackened mahi, which was good, but not very blackened. The food was tasty, but not noteworthy. The prices are much lower for seafood than in other seafood restaurants in this area--but the portions are smaller too. Actually, there was plenty to eat, just not the kind of extremely large portions one usually gets in the U.S. nowadays. We actually got to Lito's by accident. We thought we would eat at the Sicilian Oven, a really good pizzeria in the same shopping center. The place was a madhouse (as usual), so we couldn't get in. We found Lito's nearby, and we are glad to have discovered it.

I thought it was pretty good, had the lighthouse point ribeye, it was pretty good, good portion, the little red new potatoes with garlic and parsley were quite tasty and the salad was fresh, so all in all a pretty good experience, reasonable price, good service. The waitress even came back by to say thanks for the tip, don't get that very often and I am a really good tipper if service is good, TIPS to insure prompt service, i like them to remember me when I come back and greet you with a smile! Overall I would say good value for the dollar and the food all seemed fresh and prepared well. I will be back... Had some stone crab claws instead of trying the soup...claws were great, wasn't crazy about the mustard sauce, only reason they didn't get the full 5 star. Can't wait to try the soups though, I am reading the other reviews and they all seem to point out that the soup is good.

I am writing this review after being sick all night long. We just moved to the area and eat oysters often. Unfortunately, both of us became violently ill at around 1:30 A.M. and after chicken noodle soup and numerous cups of peppermint tea, I am still in pain. I called to speak with the owner/manager just to see if anyone else had been sick. In a defensive tone, he stated "They are eat at your own risk that's why I won't put them in my mouth, it says so right on the menu." I was caught of guard and asked if he was the owner and he informed me that he was the owner's son. I asked if anything could be done from a customer service perspective and he again cut me off to state somewhat abrasively, "So you want something for free to come back since you got sick." I suppose not. I will never return. It's unfortunate, because I think it's often how you retain customer's that is more important than what happened. I enjoyed the tsunami and our bill for a quick Monday night dinner was over $70. We go out to eat often, but this place is off the list. I have never had such horrible customer service, nor have I been so sick from food in my life. I'd rather spend a bit more for quality customer service and food. Stay away.

Lito's is a relative new comer to our neighborhood - and I welcome them with open arms. This is our goto local place for my family of 4, when we don't want to cook or clean. My daughter could live on the their wings, my teenager eats his fill, a good beer selection though not huge, my wife loves the lobster bisque and the tuna appetizer. Haven't really had anything with which I was not satisfied. A good bet for a last minute thought.

I have driven by this place many times while going to Publix and finally decided to stop in. This place is now one of my favorites in the area. I started with a half dozen of oysters and a cup of clam chowder. The clam chowder was perfect in every way. I then had the lobster salad salad and it was so large I couldn't finish it. The lobster meat was flavorful and not drowned in mayo. I took a piece if their homemade key lime pie and that too was out of this world. I also want to note that the waitstaff were all smiling and sweet.

The food here is amazing. Definitely a great value for consistently high quality food and service. Family owned and family operated. Visit often and you are quickly adopted! My favorites - Lighthouse Point Ribeye, Lobster & Crab Bisque, Reuben Philly with slaw instead of kraut; Tuna Philly over Rice instead of in the hoagie, Filet Mignon Sliders with blue cheese and bacon and tater tots, and the Wings!! Great burgers and the freshest seafood in town for a price that's hard to beat. Only negative - beer and wine only.....house wine is surprisingly good and plenty of beer choices.....

Excellent food, fabulous service and amazing South Florida atmosphere. The food was beyond delicious and the staff went above and beyond to provide us with excellent service. We have been there several times, the food is always fresh and you feel like part of the family at Lito's. We'll definitely be going back there quite often. I highly recommend you try their black and blue burger as well as there fresh fish, DELISH!!! I can't say enough how great they are!!

Excellent service, wonderful waitresses, been there twice in a week and our 3 boys enjoyed the ribs / burgers / dolphin dishes and the key lime dessert. Highly recommended. They forgot our salads the first time we were there and provided a free appetizer coupon on our next visit (my wife enjoyed her complementary glass of wine on our 2nd visit). The waitress also provided another complementary appetizer and complementary dessert on our 2nd visit. Can't wait to visit again once we come back for our vacation.

Recommended by a friend in the scuba diving community....Lito's will cook your catch. Here's my experience. 1. Staff is friendly 2. My friend ordered a Sam Adams Octoberfest on tap....Total Skunk...Like the lines haven't been cleaned...I agree as I had a sip and it was putrid....Waitress says "we all had some earlier and it was good....They replaced it with another and we weren't charged. 3. I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell. The Oysters were on ice, but they were warm...They didn't turn rancid but were not exactly fresh. 4. With the oysters came some crackers....totally stale....told the waitress and she just smiled. 5. Ordered the Ribs and wing combo....Requested the ribs dry rubbed with sauce on the side....very good. Wings were also equally good. So with mixed reviews.....2 guys after diving had 5 draft beers, and the above mentioned food....for a pre tax bill of $102. Kind of expensive considering Litos is in the Publix "strip mall" and there are many better and affordable options in Pompano. I do not think I'll go back.

Have been here four times, and I continue to be amazed. Had their special, "Lobsteer" Burger... AMAZING. Had to be among the top 3 burgers I ever tasted... Was topped with lobster meat, blue cheese butter, truffle oil, grilled onions on a butter toasted roll, Yum.

Vicki h & Dr. How 3/23/2015 I have been enjoying the fabulous food at Lito's Turf & Surf for over 3 years now, and am delighted to see a whole new influx of very happy new customers. In fact, some of them have been raving about one of my all time favorites, the crab & lobster bisque, loaded with generous chunks of lobster, and the flavor? "Forget about it!". When it comes to seafood, Lito's pays attention to every little detail; even something as simple as clams and oysters, which are always fresh and delicious. Another excellent choice is the burger, prepared anyway you like, but with the Lito's flair, it is surely one of the best in the area. Their nightly specials are impressive and they usually run out, so get there early and get there hungry! Joan's own heavenly key lime pie is another worldly delight, hand crafted by the owner, Joan herself. This gem of a culinary oasis in the Public Shopping Center in Lighthouse Point, will have you returning again and again. Since Lito's is family owned and operated, the staff is just as top shelf. Trust me, by the time you savor the first luscious bite; you'll feel that you're family too.

I went expecting to be blown away but was only moderately pleased. My first beer was off- either bad tap or bad keg and waitress was arguing with me. Asked her to try it and she would not. Next one was fine. The two dozen little necks for $11 was good but there was some sand. My buddy's oysters were somewhat warm when brought to the table. He got sick later that evening. His crackers were stale too. The ribs were amazing, and the wings were too. The saving grace of the evening. We had 5 beers- all tap- and they were almost $40 Dinner was $120 for two with one app and one entree plus the beer. Honestly there are way better choices nearby for seafood and ribs that are not nearly as expensive. Not going back unless I just want ribs and a coke.

This place has good vibes. Loves the music that was playing. It really just made me feel chill. The food was alright. I got a chicken tender basket. They gave us ALOT! Which I love!! I love being able to take things home. Our waitress was nice but after we got our food she didnt come back until we got the bill. I wanted to ask for bbq sauce. But thats not that big of a deal. Overall I was satisfied.

There's little more frustrating then going to the neighborhood restaurant for pick up after soccer night and the place makes you wait over a half hour on a Monday night when they said ten minutes "max" then forgot one kids entire dinner and then forgot one side dish...unbelievable how this place has gone down hill.

Another great find thanks to Yelp! Lito's is an unassuming family run restaurant located in the Shoppes at Beacon Light Publix strip mall right off US1 just north of Copans. The restaurant is kept very clean, it has several booths and a small bar area with several TV's at the bar and through out the restaurant. We sat at the bar, I took a peak in the kitchen and it was immaculate! Service is extremely friendly and attentive, they appear to be having a great time and the family/employees get along great. I have to say I was surprised by the quality of the food, everything was executed perfectly and full of flavor. The chicken wings were large, meaty and cooked just right - not overly dry or overcooked in the inside, they were moist and just right. The prime rib sub was amazing! Cooked blackened medium rare as requested, the seasoning wasn't overpowering, the steak was served as an entire large cut, not shaved or chopped, full of flavor and served in a thin bread sub, I opted for the steamed broccoli and zucchini squash instead of the fries, they were fresh not frozen and perfectly cooked. I also love that they offer a variety of daily specials and soups, I don't care for seafood soups so I was thrilled to see a steak soup featured as the soup of the day. Also on special was the pot roast, I was it coming out of the kitchen and it looked amazing, I need to go back to try it. Lito also offers to cook your own fresh fish, I know we will definitely return with our fresh catch to take advantage of this service!

I caught a 5 pound Tile Fish somewhere in the Atlantic, and the boat's captain suggested I bring it to Lito's to cook. Lito's is in a non-descript strip mall next to a Publix off the highway. Completely dineresque inside-with pinkish booths and a local hangout bar.. But as soon as I walked in, the owner greeted me warmly, and was happy to prepare my fish anyway I wanted, so I had it 1/2 grilled and the other 1/2 blackened at his suggestion. It came with 2 sides. I had freshly cut French fries and homemade coleslaw. The fish was fantastic. (Caught it at 11. Ate it at 12:30) And they charge only $10 for the cooking and the sides. Had their homemade key lime pie for dessert. Made with key limes, a graham cracker crust, and real whipped cream- not out of a can. Try to find THAT in a diner. Super friendly and super good.

Went here with some family the other night when visiting my grandma in Lighthouse Point. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. We had some sauteed fresh fish from their "catch of the day" special, crab and lobster bisque, peel-and-eat shrimp, cesar salads, "spuds" (sweet potato waffle fries) and steamers. All was good, besides a crappy baked potato (prolly my fault for ordering like my grandfather and going with a baked potato), everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we had a great time. The staff made our experience better, and I don't say that a lot. Our waitress was really into her job and was genuinely engaged in promoting the food and sharing the story behind the restaurant and this location. If you're unsure what to order, just ask for suggestions. Oh, and apparently they have homemade pecan pie...

I was really impressed with Lito's. Though a fairly good sized restaurant, only serves beer and wine, but has a bar. But, best of all is that it is a family run operation that really cares about its customers, its food preparation and it shows. It's clean, neat and with polite attentive service. I went for the Bahamian Conch chowder and found it to be one of the best most tasty around. I also had their Lobster Roll which was not only delicious with the roll bun having been caringly toasted as well as loaded with delicious lobster. What's more, in price comparison with what is served either at Linda Bean's or Kelly's Landing, a bargain. Another good thing about Lito's is that if you happen to be lucky as a fisherman, as we occasional are, but too tired out to cook catch, you can take it to Lito's and they'll prepare it for you!

A hidden gem...You cant get a better lunch for under 7 bucks. I had the pulled pork sandwhich with handcut fries and it was fabulous. I believe dining experiences are all about expectations paired with pricing. If you're buying a $15 sandwich in an upscale fancy restaurant with servers wearing collared shirts and ties, then you should expect above average quality food. I saw the lunch special prices and for $6.59 I had the best pulled pork sandwich I've had in a long time. That matched with the wonderful service we had easily gives this laid back little corner surf and turf a 5 star rating in my book.

I don't get to see my dad much, he lives out of town. We decided to try Lito, it's close to my place and had great reviews. We had little neck steamers, huge raw oysters and the special was meatloaf so I decided to try it out. I was so happy with the freshness of the oysters and the meatloaf was divine. They had a great beer selection and our server was helpful and friendly. She was knowledgeable and sweet. I felt welcomed and it was a lovely experience. Very refreshing, everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely lunch, fabulous service and a great memory with my dad. :)

Had take out... Which isn't always the best means of reviewing the quality of food. However, my blackened shrimp salad was very good. My husband went for the wings and he compared them to Publix wings... Which isn't exactly a bad thing, but not too impressed. Next time we plan on eating there. They are definitely worth another shot!

I tried this place on the recommendation of a friend & I am very glad I did. Went for a family dinner, as we had some long time friends in town & everything we had was amazing. We started with the oysters (which appeared to be gulf, I prefer the smaller ones from up north myself, but they were still very good). The entrees ranged from the dolphin basket, salmon on a bed of spinach, T-bone steak & I myself had the lobster roll. I tried everything & it was all delicious, but I was very impressed by the lobster roll. Much more generous than a lot of restaurants. I was very happy with the place & I will definitely be going back.

Lito's is a great place for lunch in LHP, particularly if you're in a hurry. Unlike most restaurants in the area, they are very well staffed and so the speed at which they get the food out of the kitchen is amazing and always consistent. The menu is big and the fish is always fresh and tasty. The servers are very friendly and the beer is cold and inexpensive. If you haven't been, Lito's is definitely worth a try.

Lobster salad. Lobster bisque. Whatever you order at this place is a hand crafted delicacy. Really nice staff as well.

Every time I go, I get their Blackened Salmon. Friends get other dishes and share a bite or two. I'm sticking with their Blackened Salmon! DELICIOUS!!!

Another awesome local spot. Every dish we have ordered has been awesome, from fish and chips to prime rib to the tater tots -- all great. The beer selection is good and they even give you free coozies! love this restaurant.
